Sir,
I recently purchased the Q-TEK penetrator from you, I have an Alinco DJ
70 TH. I took the penetrator on holiday to Skegness, mounted just 20
foot above sea level with one foot of wire for the earth connection,
along with many European contacts I also worked...

The antenna is very good as I can change bands any time and the SWR is
no higher than 1.3 to 1. Think the antenna will be even better as cycle
23 gets better. I would like to try the wire version to see if it is as
good as the vertical.
Many thanks.

From on of our customers in Cyprus... address supplied...
Dear Sirs,
I purchased the penetrator antenna for use on my Cyprus holiday home. I
needed an unobtrusive antenna and the Q-TEK certainly fitted the bill. I
also painted it sky blue to match the Cyprus climate! Having previously
always used large arrays I must say that I am delighted with its
flexibility and performance even on the LF bands. Apart from EU's
extracts from my log are JA's, CX4, VU2, K/W, LU1, 9J2, 9H3, CN0, 5Z4,
VK2, PY2, VK6 and VE3 all in a couple of months CW operating. One
question I have is on the earthing alignment. Currently I am running
about 10 mtrs or wire out on the flat roof of the home. I wonder if a
ground plane arrangement would not be better. Maybe you have some info
on that you could share?
Meanwhile congratulations on a simple antenna that certainly does the job
in a very practical way and efficient manner.
Yours sincerely
