The R30A has simple controls, but there is no performance sacrifice for simplicity’s sake, because the R30A has outstanding strong signal handling, high sensitivity, and large dynamic range to eliminate annoying intermodulation interference.
Two world famous Collins IF filters provide unmatched selectivity. The radio also features 100 programmable memories, variable rate tuning and switchable bandwidths in all modes. All of that is great, but the thing most people comment on when first hearing an R30A play, is its unmatched audio quality, especially when using a high quality speaker such as our SP-30. The R30A has a full 5 Watts of audio power to drive large external speakers.

The R30A HF shortwave receiver is a compact, high performance radio capable of receiving AM, CW and SSB signals in the 100KHz to 30 MHz spectrum. Unlike most general coverage SW receivers, the R30 is not desensitized on the LF and MW bands, making it ideal for Standard Broadcast Band DXing.

PERSEUS is a VLF-LF-HF receiver based on a outstanding direct sampling digital architecture. It features a 14 bit 80 Ms/s analog-to-digital converter with an exceptional 76 dB SNR (BW = 40 MHz), a high-performance configurable FPGA digital down-converter with an up to 1 MS/s output sampling rate and a 480 MBit/s, high- speed USB 2.0 PC interface.
Unlike in lower class direct sampling receivers, the PERSEUS RF analog front-end has been carefully designed for the most demanding users and includes a 0-30 dB, 10 dB steps attenuator (with an up to 500 mW input lower rating), a low-loss 10 bands pass-band RF preselector filters bank, and a high dynamic preamplifier with a top-class input third-order Intercept Point of more than 30 dBm. The resulting third-order dynamic range is 103 dB for SSB signals (2.4 KHz BW) and 107 dB for CW signals (500 Hz BW).
